Located approximately 20 miles north of Philadelphia in a rapidly expanding suburban area, the North Penn School District has an approximate population of more than 90,000. The school district includes the boroughs of Hatfield, Lansdale, and North Wales, the townships of Hatfield, Montgomery, Towamencin and Upper Gwynedd, and the village of Line Lexington.

Enrollment and Schools
North Penn spans an area of 42 square miles. There are 13 elementary schools (grades K-6), three middle schools (grades 7-9), and one high school (grades10-12). Enrollment at the elementary level is 6,524, middle level is 3,001, and high school level is 3,200, making a total district enrollment of 12,725. These figures represent the 90th day enrollment of the 2008-2009 school year.
Curriculum
North Penn has a district wide curriculum which guarantees uniformity of instruction across all North Penn schools. At the elementary level, the program includes a language arts program which integrates the instruction of reading, English and spelling through use of a literature-based approach. Math and science incorporate a hands-on application approach with instruction of basic skills. Social studies includes the study of local, state and national history and geography, as well as an introduction to significant world historical events and ancient civilizations. Students receive instruction in physical education, art, music and computer applications on a regular basis.
The middle school level includes academic teams for the instruction of English, math, reading, science and social studies in grades seven and eight. Students take a variety of exploratory courses so they can experience diverse opportunities as they define their interests, strengths, and capabilities during their adolescent years. The ninth grade program is, by design, more individualized to group eligible students according to like abilities and needs.
At the high school level, effective programs in all subject areas are designed to meet the varied needs of a diverse student body. North Penn High School participates in the College Board Advanced Placement (AP) Program. The AP Program consists of college-level courses and exams that give high school students the opportunity to receive advanced placement and/or credit in college. Such credits can mean a savings in both college costs and time in school for students. Advanced placement courses are offered in (English, European History, Government: United States and Comparative, United States History, Psychology, Economics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Calculus 1 & 2, Statistics, French, German, Spanish and Latin.)

College Bound Percentages
Of the 1,036 students in the class of 2007, 88% are attending four-year or two-year colleges and specialized schools.
Average SAT Scores
In the class of 2007, 883 students or 82% of the graduating class took the SAT during their senior year. Average scores as reported by the college board were 519 critical reading, 525 math and 508 writing.
